DAY 143: Comparing Happiness and the Survival Headache

I started feeling a strong headache last night while watching the Pursuit of Happiness, a movie with Will Smith about  a guy that struggles to get just enough for him and his five year old son. I was actually feeling tired as if I was living the same experience as the main character - the tiredness of the constant problems, the bills to pay, the fines and the debt knocking at one's door, which can easily put one down.

This guy was resilient and did not give up. However, and despite the fact that he was showing that he was able to get things done and find solutions, I was in this anxiety of imagining the worse end throughout the whole movie. If I bring this point to myself, I can see this pattern playing out in the relationship with myself - no matter how many times I have proven to myself that I am able to find solutions to myself, to stand up and to do what is best for me, I still allow myself to go into anxiety and into the survival mode of fearing the worse case scenarios in my life.

Another point that opened up was the belief and fear that I would not be able to find solutions like the main character did because I am a woman and because I would not be able to do it all by myself. The headache has been with me during the whole day today and so I have decided to write about it and see which points open up:

I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to compare me to the main character of the movie and thinking that I would not be able to help myself if I was in his situation of poverty, struggle and a child to take care by myself.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to judge me as unable to face my problems and to find solutions for me and those around me.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to underestimate my ability to help myself, to know myself and to do that which is best for me.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to create and participate in the survival mode of the mind by imagining the scarcity of money in my own mind.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to create anxiety within me when I listen to people's problems because I start imagining these problems in my own life instead of assisting me in standing as a point of stability and a point of support to another. I realise that placing me in the position of the victim is not part of the solution but I am actually feeding the problem.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to believe that I am less capable of taking care of myself if I am alone.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to believe that I am not able to find solutions if I am not with my partner.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to judge me as weaker and inferior compared to the guy's story in the movie.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to believe that people need to go through struggle in order to prove themselves as capable or simply to have a story of courage while in the meantime there are unnecessary consequences in one's minds and physical bodies that could be prevented.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to project the film's story into my own life as an automatic reaction instead of simply learning from it and seeing what values and principles I am missing and separated from.
I forgive myself for having accepted and allowed myself to believe that I need to be with my partner in order to be stable and to give me direction when in fact this is a manifestation of the survival mode projected unto another whereby I fear losing my partner and go into anxiety when I imagine me facing issues by myself.

By walking the process over the last five years I have become aware that I am the only one able to assist me - and this is regardless of being alone or with my partner. The reality is that I am the one able and responsible for knowing my mind and walking the correction. This means that this fear and apparent dependency on my partner is not real and it is a moment to remind myself of that and align me to not participate in this belief system of the mind.

When and as I see myself creating unnecessary stress and anxiety within me by imagining what it would be like to have another person's problem, I stop and I breathe.
I realise that I am unable to help myself or another if I become part of the problem - I see that I can understand the problem by placing myself in their shoes however going into stress and anxiety will not help. Instead, I commit myself to apply the solutions that I have been practicing in my own life, such as slowing down the mind, understanding where the thought is coming from, stopping the thought, giving me direction, being self-honest, breathing and being clear in my correction in order to prevent unnecessary consequences.

I commit myself to stand as myself in my process of becoming self-aware, knowing myself and applying the corrective tools of stopping the mind, seeing the situation in common sense and applying the correction and solutions to change the situation for what is best for me. By creating this consistency within me and by building this trust I will be able to assist others in doing the same for themselves.

When and as I see myself comparing me to another person (being it in real life or to a character in the movie) and thinking that I would have given up, I stop the thought and I breathe. I realise that this backchat is not real and is unnacceptable - I realise that I don't have any choice rather than helping myself unconditionally in every moment. I also realise that usually when I compare myself to another is a form of self-judgement whereby I think of me as inferior and weaker. Thus, I commit myself to stop all thoughts of comparison in relation to other people's lives, experiences and stories.

When and as I see myself believing that my self-stability is dependent on being with my partner, I stop and I breathe. I realise that I am the only one able to know me, to walk my points, and therefore the one able to create my self-stability in my process of changing my relationship with my mind.

When and as I see myself thinking and believing that my economic stability is dependent on my partner, I stop and I breathe.

I realise that it is my responsibility to make sure that I am able to take care of myself and to provide me the best living standard; I am also aware that in today's society and where I am now this living standard requires me to be financially supported. Therefore, the belief that my economic stability is dependent on another is not real because I am actually already proving to myself that I am responsible and capable of my own financial support. Having said this, I am also aware that one's economic stability may be provided by another when couples decide it so in a given time and therefore the fear is also unnacceptable considering that such decisions must be mutually agreed and properly planned.

When and as I see myself thinking that my partner would be able to apply common sense better than I do in stressful situations or in the context of the movie, I stop and I breathe.

I realise that it is pointless for me to project the movie's story literally into my life because that is not the point of learning from another; I realise that by taking another's story and example personally I am actually getting distracted from my ownself and for my own life. In this, I commit myself to take people's stories as examples to learn from and not to copy from. By learning from another I realise that I am assisting me in applying solutions as the principles of courage, of self-determination, of consistency and of creativity in my own life. I realise that I cannot live another person's process and that all I can and must do is to live my process/LIFE to my utmost potential.

When and as I see myself being limited by my own thoughts, fears, anxieties and images in my mind, I stop and I breathe. I commit myself to use the tools of Desteni such as of writing, of investigating my mind, of forgiving myself and of writing my self-corrective statements in order to stop the cycle of self-limitition and give me the chance to change my relationship to myself, from self-limitation to self-awareness, self-expression, self-expansion and self-direction.

Day 67: Poverty: a daily holocaust

Do we really need a Memorial day to stop repeating the past?
Living of memories is not living - it is in fact a brainwashing, to keep us enslaved to the "way things have been" and justifying the atrocities that exist just in front of us. The perspectives we have over the past are definetely shaping the future - living in memories is a step to repeat mistakes in a time-loop. Let's now fix what can be fixed before is too late.

Holocaust victims = 11 - 17 million (in six years)
Victims of poverty related diseases = 14 million every year

Poverty is a daily holocaust but it does not make the news anymore.

Do we need to feel pain to realise that we are alive?
Do we need to feel pain to see that suffering is real?

I also used to be on the surface of History but now I see that the issues humanity faces are deeper than what I could ever conceive. We know as little of History as we do about ourselves - where do our thoughts come from? How do memories feed the mind? How is our action manipulated by images?...

My respect upon humanity is in guaranteeing that not even one more child suffers, or lives surounded by war, or in poverty, or feeling sick without care, or in stress, violence, shame, cold. No matter where a child is born, my job as a human being will be to make sure that every child born into this world will have the best of everything that is required for a good living. Here is the potential world we have in front of us. But it is easier to organise one-day event than to really put work and resources into fixing this economic system.

Day 47: When the desire is bigger than the need

There are many patterns of the mind that we are not aware of when they manifest.
Comparisons, jealousy, competition and greed are patterns of separation. Have you ever noticed how self-dishonest one can be? Distracted with the desire of getting something new (whether is the newest mobile or a new wife), there is an accumulation of thoughts motivated by the idea of getting that which one doesn’t have yet. The image that you want others to have of you --- look at my new toy! (whether is the newest mobile or a new wife...). The image of yourself with the new achievement is just incredible in your own mind to let it go.
But what happens when your desire becomes real? It is not desirable anymore. The energy attached to it has gone as well as the mission to get it. Puff, no more excitement. Was the new toy amazing or was it the image of you with it? Is technology great or the perceptions we create about it? How cruel can we be with our own creation?...
Humans consume the desires of the mind that clearly show are fictional. The desire wasn’t real in first place but you moved yourself physically to get it --- this is how we are destroying ourselves.
The human will have to quickly find a new target otherwise gets into depression. And the cycle starts again. Each one in its own bubble of desires, comparisons, jealousy, competition and greed disregarding Life around you, nature and everything that indeed makes you alive. This is a short description of how the physical world is being damaged by consumerism.
Of course one can actually direct oneself to become self-aware and stop such participation, but self-honesty is not something one can buy. One must BEcome.

Day 44: 10 Years of Addiction to Fear

Let’s stop for a moment the emotional attachment towards 9/11 and look at the whole picture of a decade of consequence. The consequence of the human acceptance of war, the patterns of behaviour, the mindset of conflict, the Jesus-saviour-syndrome of leaders, the propaganda of revenge and the culture of fear.

Instead of blaming anyone else, whether is a nation or a so-called terrorist, let’s look at inside ourselves. How is each one participating as a terrorist? How is each one participating as revenge, reaction and ignorance? How is each one creating separation towards someone else?

International relations are a manifestation of the human mind projected into decisions that affect the world globally.

It is such a deception to listen to Obama’s speech on protecting “his people” - an attitude that legitimates an idea of superiority that is a big lie, because Everyone in the world is part of THE people. It is so easy to put humans against humans under perceptions of fear and pretending that we are not part of the same race. Afghans are equals to Americans as well as all the other nations. Politicians, economists and decision-makers are no different from any other citizen but they are using knowledge, information and public relations to play the game, instead of changing it.

Ten years ago, the American ego was hurt. More than the loss of people in the Twin Towers, it was the perception of power and security that was affected. Based on that, the reaction of revenge took place globally. More people have died since then. Multiple wars of psychological genocide and murder were legitimated around the world. A cycle of destruction that we have ALL participated in thoughts and action. All humanity is involved as interdependent we are. Nations are an illusion of separation since consequences have no frontiers.

But international insecurity and war didn't start 10 years ago... War is an addiction and a habit accepted by humanity because we haven’t tried anything else yet. Changing such acceptances and ways of living is the greatest challenge for humanity if we are willing to survive.

Have you ever asked yourself: If it wasn’t war, how would humanity coexist? If it wasn’t war, how would countries show their economical power? If it wasn’t war, how would economy grow? Can you see now why war is still accepted today... Why do we need such economic growth in first place? What is economic growth when half of the world stays in poverty? The planet earth doesn’t grow so where do nations want to expand? We are going in the wrong direction folks. Centuries of nonsensical existence, of medieval conquers and atomic destruction. Humans have not yet realized that we can do much more and much better if our starting point is Life for ALL, Equality and Self-Honesty.

Superiority and inferiority are perceptions, thus are not real. Rich and poor are the direct consequence of such perception and it kills: people are dying, whether in poverty or in wars every day. The friction of conflict generates money in this current economic system and this is unacceptable. Nothing of this would happen if the monetary system was different and if humans were not driven by the ego.

The external enemy only exists in the human mind. The well-known fear of the unknown. There is no point in faking an alien invasion to attack the earth, as the Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman wanted to feed the saga of fear with his theory to save (only) the US economy (err... doesn't it make one question the starting point to promote terrorists in the human mind?). Such Hollywood game won’t be accepted anymore.

We don’t want to create enemies because we know that we are NOT enemies of each other. Human beings are changing and the majority of the people is willing to create peace at a global level. The majority of the people wants to end poverty. The majority of the people wants to stop suffer because we are suffering. The majority of the people is willing to forgive. The majority of the people is willing to change to a new economic system that guarantees that no war will destroy their families.

We are ALL responsible for our human creation (or destruction). There is nothing to protect or to fear. Just need to stop the mindset of separation and stand for a dignified LIFE for all. Can you imagine how politics, the media, scientific investigation and all sectors of society would amazingly change for the better? Can you see how the world can be a nice place to coexist and to breathe? Or are we so selfish that we’ll allow the human deception to pass to our children (...as the sins of the fathers?)

Humanity is falling again in the time-loop of separation. Until we say: NO FURTHER. Look at the other planets: Is this how we want to end? ... or are we willing to change our pre-programmed design of conflict to a better version of the Human species?

Day 38: The root of the riots

Do we really think that everything was alright before the protests?
Do we believe in the apparent illusion that people were happy in silence?

This is an accumulation effect. What goes inside is now projected to the outside...
Unfortunately we are not educated to understand how we work (our mind and our body).
Do we know where our thoughts come from?
Do we know why do we react in certain ways?
Also, we are not educated to understand where the money comes from?
Why is there poverty?
Why some have and others don't?
Why is Life on earth about paying bills and surviving, when all we want is to enjoy ourselves with fellow human beings, family and friends?

These manifestations of anger are the consequence of such accumulation of anger within each one of us. Everyone is tired of this system. Everyone is tired of survival, consciously or subconsciously.

The way to see what's really going on is putting yourself in other people's shoes. What do you see? Lack of comfort, lack of housing conditions, lack of a stable income, lack of security, lack of respect, lack of opportunities and lack of equality. Politics should be about giving, not taking. The "taking bit" comes with the economic system...

The solution is not separation. It never was and it won't be. Because we are simply fighting with ourselves, whether is a police officer or someone else - The human race against self! There is a fight within each one that must be forgiven, self-forgiven. We will have to come to a point of deciding how we want to live on this planet and what do we want to create as our reality. Each one is creating already but we need to change the direction. It can't be destruction, definitely. We are to BEcome the living example of Life. That is self-empowerment, knowing that what you do is the best for yourself and for all.

How we want to be treated is how we must treat others.
People are angry because we have existed in this survival system for too long. Enough is enough. The biggest violence exists in silence, within. And it is each one's responsibility to stop so that we can build something together.
The other silence is the corruption of the system - that which we don't see but we feel it in our daily life.

The problem we know it already because it has been the same since ever. That is why I find amazing these new creative SOLUTIONS towards equality and self-honesty

Day 28: Closing borders? Migration? Survival?... GLOBAL SOLUTIONS PLEASE!

The migration crisis between European and North African countries is escalating. The recent uprising of its tone opens up a reality that we simply cannot ignore: the interdependence we all exist within.

Yesterday, the Euronews reported that “hundreds of immigrants from north Africa reached Italian shores in the last 24 hours, adding to a crisis that has raised tension between European governments and prompted plans to temporarily restore border controls.” At the same time, Denmark decided to re-impose its border restrictions.

This last aspect refers to a change in the free movement of people, known as the Schengen cooperation, that has been developed since 1985 and which evolved into an established legislative practice with the Amsterdam Treaty in 1999. Today, over 400 million people live in the Schengen area and it covers 22 EU Member States* plus Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. In practice, the current Schengen Agreement enables anyone to cross the internal borders without undergoing checks.

The interdependence can be seen here as Equality – what it happens in one side of the world will affect the other side equally. There is no escape. By this, it is understood that we are ALL equally responsible.

As in every situation, one has put oneself into our neighbours’ shoes, both the European citizens and the African migrants, in order to see in common sense. A solution that is the best for all is now being proved to be the ONLY way to guarantee that past mistakes won’t happen again. I will develop about the solution further in this article.

The European Union is land, with population and set of legislation. The North African countries are the same: land, with population and laws. Let’s read in between the lines and see that these elements are all limited – not only by borders, but mainly by the economic system that “sponsors” POVERTY worldwide.

What we are assisting at the moment is an incredible wave moved by human SURVIVAL. People wouldn’t move from their country of origin to Europe except to improve their lives! When people are suffering, feeling insecure, hungry and without support whatsoever, people will search for a better place and for money. People migrate because the place where they live does not provide them the security, food and quality of life which are basic human rights for a dignified LIFE! WHY? Because we are condemned to the survival economic system that we have been accepting thus far.

If people had enough money for themselves, do you think they would migrate? Probably not! They would possibly move to another country for professional/personal growth and self-enjoyment, but certainly not from a survival starting point. It is not time to point the finger at anyone: instead lets use both of our hands to work together towards a different economic system, based on equal rights and dignity. These will be achieved by establishing an Equal Money System, where everyone has money for the basic human needs from birth till death.

Ask yourself: what would you do if you were in a situation of extreme poverty, unemployment and war?

According to the Press Release from the 3085th Council meeting on 12 May 2011, Brussels:

The solution presented by the Council of the European Union is a “More efficient migration management” based on “a need for a strong common immigration and asylum policy and efficient controls at the external borders.”

This is NO SOLUTION AT ALL. Please Mrs and Mr Ministers, this is a remedy that doesn't cure. In fact, it ignores the real problem here, which is the NEED FOR MIGRATION in first place! Until when do we need to watch the same images of people falling from boats again and again? Until when are we going to accept such survivalism in the world?

As the Belgian migration minister said "What is the answer in bringing back borders? What will it produce? Nothing,". "Too bad it is being brought forward by several nations."

With so many European theorists, deputies and policy makers, why don’t they/WE spend our time, money and knowledge in developing/investigating a global change in the economic system once and for all?? If knowledge became a limitation, then let go of the knowledge and think creatively towards solutions that have the best outcome for everyone affected by it. People don’t need to migrate or ask for asylum IF conditions are provided since they are born.

The Equal Money System is being developed by a group of international practivists to make sure that people’s lives are respected everywhere. The change required has to be global.

The current economic system is a carrousel and the Humanity is going through time loops... until we all free ourselves from it.
